Cross-Connection Protection with the 574 Series Backflow Preventer
The all-new 574 Series testable, reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer is used in residential and commercial plumbing systems where ASSE 1013 type devices are required by code. The 574 Series prevents accidental contamination of the distribution water supply system when there is a reduction in pressure in the supply system (e.g., a main break or periodic flushing) or an increase in pressure in the building plumbing system (e.g., a missing or non-functioning domestic hot water expansion tank).
The valve is ICC-ES certified to ASSE 1013, CSA B64.6 and NSF 372 low lead laws. It meets codes IPC, IRC and UPC for use in accordance with the U.S. and Canadian plumbing codes. Available in ½” and ¾” pipe sizes with NPT or press connections, the valve is complete with discharge air gap, isolation valves and pressure taps.
