A full-day design-focused workshop:

  • Discover best practices for combining modern, high-efficiency wood-fired boilers with hydronic distribution systems.
  • Explore operating characteristics of two-stage wood-gasification boilers, pellet-fired boilers, and the latest complementary hydronic heating technology.
  • Discuss low-temperature heat emitters, high-efficiency circulators, modern control techniques, and options for water-based thermal storage.
  • Learn how to combine these heat sources and distribution techniques into stable, efficient, and reliable systems.
  • All registered attendees will receive the newly-released and detailed publication: Design Assistance Manual for High-Efficiency Low-Emissions Biomass Boiler Systems

This course qualifies for 7 AIA learning units (equivalent to 7 PDH for NY professional engineers).

Biomass Boiler Training: $149 per person

Groups of three or more employees from one company: $124 per person.

Currently registered college students and staff: $50 per person (with valid ID).

Special rate of $50 ($99 discount) for previous attendees who would like to refresh their knowledge and repeat the class. (Limited to attendees who previously attended the full-price workshop.

About the Instructor
John Siegenthaler, P.E., is a mechanical engineering graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a licensed professional engineer, and Professor Emeritus of Engineering Technology at Mohawk Valley Community College. John is principal of Appropriate Designs—a consulting engineering firm in Holland Patent, NY. John has worked closely with NYSERDA on the development and implementation of the Renewable Heat NY initiative.
