women in energy1

Join Women in Energy on August 14 at 6:00 PM for a special evening of networking and education in a New York City landmark. Founded in 1785, the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen is New York City's oldest technical school and second oldest library.

Guest speaker Judaline Cassidy, tradeswoman and Founder/Director of Tools and Tiaras, will share her experience overcoming discrimination in the workplace, as well as gaining equal pay and access to the plumbers union. She will also discuss how she is introducing young women and girls to the trades. Ms. Cassidy began her career in the field of plumbing at the John Donaldson Technical of Trinidad. She was one of the first three females selected to pursue plumbing at the Institute.

Ms. Cassidy was also the first woman elected on the Examining Board of Plumbers Local Union No. One. She established Tools and Tiaras to help ambitious and determined women and girls by introducing them to the construction field through monthly workshops and a summer program.

According to Ms. Cassidy, “When you hand a young girl a tool and a tiara, you're handing her confidence, independence, and power.”

After the presentation, attendees will gather for networking, drinks, and light snacks.

Tickets are $59 per person and advanced purchase is required. Visit https://wewomeninenergy.com/events to register.

Women in Energy would like to thank the New York Oil Heating Association and the General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen for sponsoring this event.
