IAPMO Seeks Public Comments for 2015 Edition of Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement

IAPMO with name

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), publisher of the Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement (GPMCS), is seeking public comments for the 2015 edition of the GPMCS.

The 45-day public comment process is open through Nov. 24. To download a copy of the proposed changes that the Green Technical Committee approved at its August 2014 meeting, as well as the comment form, please visit www.iapmo.org/Pages/IAPMO_Green.aspx. The public review process is open to IAPMO members and the public at large. Comments are sought on the existing supplement, as well as proposed changes being recommended by the IAPMO Green Technical Committee.

The comments will be compiled and serve as the agenda for the Green Technical Committee meeting April 9-10, 2015, in Ontario, Calif. The content of the 2015 edition of the GPMCS will be finalized at this meeting and will be published in fall 2015.

IAPMO's Green Plumbing and Mechanical Code Supplement is the most comprehensive document ever created to standardize sustainable residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical systems. The 2012 edition is being revised as part of IAPMO's commitment to ensuring plumbing and mechanical systems are safe and sustainable while keeping up with the rapid pace of emerging technology.

The GPMCS is not a "greener" version of IAPMO's Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC®) or Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC®), but rather a separate document establishing requirements for green building and water efficiency applicable to plumbing and mechanical systems. To purchase the 2012 edition of the GPMCS, visit www.iapmostore.org.

For questions about submitting a comment for the GPMCS, contact Maria Bazan at (708) 995-3007.
