A full-day design-focused workshop:
- Discover best practices for combining modern, high-efficiency wood-fired boilers with hydronic distribution systems.
- Explore operating characteristics of two-stage wood-gasification boilers, pellet-fired boilers, and the latest complementary hydronic heating technology.
- Discuss low-temperature heat emitters, high-efficiency circulators, modern control techniques, and options for water-based thermal storage.
- Learn how to combine these heat sources and distribution techniques into stable, efficient, and reliable systems.

This course qualifies for 7 AIA learning units (equivalent to 7 PDH for NY professional engineers).

About the Instructor
John Siegenthaler, P.E., is a mechanical engineering graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a licensed professional engineer, and Professor Emeritus of Engineering Technology at Mohawk Valley Community College. John is principal of Appropriate Designs—a consulting engineering firm in Holland Patent, NY. John has worked closely with NYSERDA on the development and implementation of the Renewable Heat NY initiative.
