Quilt has unveiled a new grassroots campaign designed to put the heat pump, one of the most important yet often overlooked home upgrades, front and center. The company’s new lawn signs give homeowners and HVAC professionals a way to proudly display their role in accelerating electrification, no matter which manufacturer’s system is installed.
The timing is right: U.S. homeowners are now buying 37% more heat pumps than gas furnaces, and for good reason (1) . Heat pumps are efficient, climate-friendly, and capable of keeping homes comfortable year-round. Yet unlike solar panels or EVs, they’re usually tucked away out of sight.
Making Heat Pumps Visible
Inspired by the familiar yard signs that follow landscaping jobs or solar panel installations, these signs are a visible nod to the less obvious upgrades transforming homes across the country. Quilt is providing the signs free of charge to every Quilt Certified Partner, who can offer them to any homeowner with a new heat pump, regardless of brand.
“Electrification is not a zero-sum game. Every time a furnace is replaced with a heat pump, we move closer to a clean energy future, ” said Paul Lambert, co-founder and CEO of Quilt. “This campaign is about celebrating that progress and the skilled installation partners who make it happen every day, no matter what system they’re putting in. Every install is a step toward healthier homes, better comfort, lower emissions, and a stronger industry. ”
A Win for Homeowners, the Planet, and the Industry
While solar panels and electric vehicles are easy to spot, heat pumps, a critical technology for decarbonizing homes, are typically hidden from view. Quilt’s campaign aims to change that, rallying communities around the sustainable heating and cooling technology.
“Heat pumps are one of the most impactful upgrades you can make for comfort, savings, and the planet — but they’ve been hiding in plain sight” , said Lizz Niemeyer, VP of Marketing at Quilt. “We wanted to change that, with a campaign that sparks conversation and celebrates every installation, no matter the brand. In a moment when climate progress can’t be taken for granted, every switch from gas is worth showing off — it’s a win for homeowners, for the planet, and for the industry we’re building together. ”
Design With a Purpose
Quilt’s Creative Director, Audrey Nieh, and their team approached the lawn signs with the same care and intentionality that goes into Quilt’s product design.
The signs are available in multiple designs, inviting homeowners to choose a favorite or collect all four. “The signs are intentionally playful and a little unexpected — a retro wink that dovetails with Quilt’s clean, modern design, ” said Nieh. “We tapped into a familiar Americana aesthetic to spark curiosity and invite everyone into the conversation about climate tech. It’s a nod to nostalgia, but with a purpose: to make the humble heat pump something worth showing off, and to remind people that clean energy is for everyone."
