Modine Introduces New Atherion® Casing Option for Coastal Areas
Sea coast applications can be especially harsh on HVAC equipment casings.
To protect against the corrosive effects of the salt laden air, a Coastal Coat Casing Package is now offered as a premium option for the Modine Atherion packaged ventilation system.
This option adds an additional, electrostatically applied polyester powder-coat paint finish to pre-painted G90 galvanized steel. The additional paint layer is applied after fabrication but before assembly, ensuring complete paint coverage on all surfaces of each part, including the inside of punched holes.
The finish is capable of withstanding a minimum of 5,000 hours of salt spray and fog atmosphere exposure in accordance with ASTM B117 testing. The option also upgrades all exterior casing fasteners from zinc plated to stainless steel.
Also, the standard Atherion cabinet is changed to pre-painted G90 galvanized steel with a finish capable of withstanding a minimum of 2,500 hours of salt spray and fog atmosphere exposure in accordance with ASTM B117 testing. The material is painted the same Modine gray-green in a satin finish.
