Armstrong Announces Sponsorship of Green Tech Program Internships
Armstrong Fluid Technology announced at Greenbuild Expo 2017 that the company is sponsoring two internships as part of the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Massachusetts Chapter Green Building Tech Program, this year’s Legacy Project.
The Green Building Tech program is designed to create awareness of green building technologies in the early development of the trades in facilities management, electrical, plumbing and carpentry. Armstrong will work with USGBC’s MA Chapter, to provide scholarships worth $7,000 to two deserving students from The Green Building Tech Program at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School in Roxbury, MA.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to achieving more energy efficient and sustainable buildings, we believe it is critical to provide the next generation of building operators and technicians with the education and skills they need to succeed,” said Lex van der Weerd, Armstrong Fluid Technology CEO.
“The industry is demanding more competent building operators, technicians and managers. With that in mind the Green Building Tech Program is taking a lead role within the Boston Public Schools system, educating high school students on sustainable building operations and technologies,” said Vernette Allen, Grants Programs Manager, USGBCMA. Armstrong will also participate in the program curriculum later this year with a presentation focused on energy-saving HVAC technologies and solutions
