This May, to reaffirm its commitment to the next generation of aspiring HVAC technicians, Bosch Thermotechnology donated a variety of HVAC units – including a four-ton SM split system unit, a two-ton BP package vertical unit and a four-ton SM package vertical unit – to the Atlantic Technical College and Technical High School in Coconut Creek, Florida.
During the visit to the school to unveil the units, Adrian Smith and Brett Climan from Bosch Thermotechnology met Brian Youngblood, certified master HVAC-R educator who helps run the HVAC classes at the high school, and his students. As they toured the technical classroom and lab, Bosch staff answered the students’ questions on the units and discussed the HVAC industry with the future technicians.
“It was very obvious that these students are eager to learn and gain hands-on experience,” said Adrian Smith, technical service associate at Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. “This opportunity allowed us to introduce the units and provide technical support, as well as engage with young professionals and give back to the community.”
In September 2016, Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. donated a five-ton inverter ducted split (IDS) system condensing unit and air handler to the school’s HVAC laboratory. The IDS air handler and condensing section are used to train HVAC students in the Florida Department of Education Architecture and Construction Career Cluster program “Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology (I470203),” giving them real-world HVAC experience.
