IEC Wins 2014 Dealer Design Award for New ReStoraMOD™ Replacement Fan Coil Unit
International Environmental Corp. (IEC) announces its receipt of The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News (The ACHR NEWS) magazine’s 2014 Dealer Design Award, recognizing excellence in the design of the company’s new ReStoraMOD™ modular hi-rise replacement fan coil series unit. Selected from among nearly 100 entries, IEC’s ReStoraMOD was a gold award winner in the Dealer Design Awards’ “HVAC light commercial equipment” category, following evaluation by an independent judging panel of mechanical contractors.
"These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry, and to feature innovative installation and service solutions," said Mike Murphy, publisher of The ACHR NEWS.
“The ReStoraMOD replaces most existing high-rise fan coil units with the latest in energy-saving and IAQ features, including an optional ECM,” said Darren Mounts, product manager at IEC. “Extensive research was performed at the individual market level and through key contacts in the hospitality and multi-family vertical markets with respect to growth in the renovation market. With so many older vertical stack and modular high-rise units out there, many owners are in the midst of the replace, remodel, or renew decision process. The ReStoraMOD offers the advantages of replacing a unit without the costly delays and downtime.”
“It is a proud moment for all the hard-working members of the IEC team, to be recognized for excellence in innovation,” said Dennis Kloster, president of IEC. “Innovation continues to be one of IEC’s key competitive advantages.”
The ReStoraMOD was designed for fast and minimally invasive installation that does not impact neighboring spaces and can be completed on a room-by-room basis. Its streamlined three-step installation process includes: removal of existing surface components and trim drywall; removal of the existing unit’s internal components and trim cabinet edges; and setting the ReStoraMOD unit into the existing cavity and hooking it up to the existing infrastructure.
Compatible with most existing modular hi-rise units, including IEC and competitive models, the ReStoraMOD is available in 300, 400 and 600 CFM capacities. It provides the latest in energy savings and indoor air quality (IAQ), with a wide variety of options including closed cell insulation, an electronically commutated motor (ECM), anti-microbial coatings, and advanced humidity control.
