REHAU Launches RAUBOARD Radiant Heating Panel to Offer Industry’s Most Complete Line of Above-Floor Panels and Below-Floor Plates
REHAU announces the launch of its new RAUBOARDTM radiant heating system designed for above-floor installations.
With the launch of this product, the company not only expands its line of radiant heating solutions and installation options, but now offers the industry’s most complete line of below-floor plates and above-floor panels.
Radiant heating is one of the most energy efficient types of space conditioning available today because of its exceptional comfort at relatively low operating temperatures. REHAU hydronic radiant heating systems work by circulating warm water through RAUPEX® crosslinked polyethylene (PEXa) pipe installed in floors, walls or ceilings.
RAUBOARD is a lightweight plywood panel featuring a low, 1/2 in. profile and 5 percent higher heat output than competitive plywood panels. Installed between the finished floor and the subfloor or on walls underneath the gypsum board, these low-profile panels expand the applications for radiant to include retrofitting options as well as new construction.
“REHAU developed RAUBOARD in response to the growing demand for a wider range of radiant heating installation options and performance requirements,” said Steve Rohrbaugh, applications engineer, building technology and civil engineering. “This is a high-performance heat transfer panel system that not only exceeds other systems in thermal heat output, but it offers greater installation flexibility and can be completely installed by a heating contractor,” he said. “In addition, the low thermal mass of a panel system like RAUBOARD facilitates a quicker response time, and makes heating during the transitional spring and fall seasons much easier.”
Other options available in REHAU’s line of above-floor plates and below-floor panels include RAUPLATETM, designed specifically for the joist space as an easy-to-install retrofit option and RAUPANELTM , the industry’s highest performing aluminum panel, delivering up to 50 percent higher heat output than other panel systems.
